Social media users not only targeted her singing abilities but also issued "rare" apologies to Pakistan for the remake
Shae Gill, who performed the original version, requested fans over Instagram not to send hate to the team involved in the new song
Tulsi Kumar, the singer of the recreated version of the Pakistani hit track "Pasoori" featured in the film Satyaprem Ki Katha, has faced criticism after a video surfaced of her forgetting the lyrics while singing the song during an interview.
Social media users not only targeted her singing abilities but also issued "rare" apologies to Pakistan for the remake.
The backlash against the song has been ongoing, with some users expressing disappointment in the rendition. However, singer Shae Gill, who performed the original version, took to Instagram to request fans not to send hate to the team involved in the new song. She urged people to view it as a rendition and, if they don't like it, to simply choose not to listen to it rather than spreading hate.
Satyaprem Ki Katha, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Sameer Vidwans, stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The film was released in theaters on June 29 and also features Gajraj Rao and Supriya Pathak.
The controversy surrounding the film also includes its title change from Satyanarayan Ki Katha to Satyaprem Ki Katha due to criticism received for its original name's association with the Hindu deity Vishnu.
